Subject: [Defconlist] DEFCON Warning System - Update 12/1/11

This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 1 P.M. Tuesday, December 1st, 2011. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5. Condition Green. DEFCON 5.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time.
The United States has entered a pact with Australia to station up to 2,500 military personnel in the country, which China has called "outside interference". Meanwhile, the U.S. Office of the National Counterintelligence Executive reports that China's cyber-espionage is growing and that China continues to advance in space technology, docking two more satellites.  The United States has successfully tested an Advanced Hypersonic Weapon capable of striking anywhere on the planet in one hour, and the Air Force begins receiving shipments of the "Massive Ordnance Penetrator", a 30,000-pound conventional bunker-busting weapon, however it is known that China and other manufacturers have been sprinkling fake parts into U.S. military's supply chain.
The United States has announced that it will no longer comply with the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, citing that Moscow has stopped complying back in 2007.  Over the next ten years, U.S. defence spending faces a 15% cut over the next ten years.
Recent events in Pakistan have strained relations between that country and the United States, however Pakistan has never been an ally of the U.S., and this new strain on relations is not unexpected. In fact, Pakistan has been moving its nuclear weapons to hide them from U.S. spies.
Of some concern is the fact that Russia is sending warships to Syria to support ally Syrian president al-Assad at the same time that the United States is sending warships to Syria in preparation for possible NATO intervention. Russia is also delivering anti-ship cruise missiles to Syria and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has stated that Russia will target sites in Europe that are part of the U.S. missile shield.
British American Security Information Council claims that Israel has been developing nuclear weapons for air- and sea-based attacks and has modified a U.S. weapon for nuclear attacks. It is reported that the Israeli Parliament is no longer divided on the necessity of military action against Iran while the United States has, through backdoor channels, given Israel a green light for attack.  For itself, the United States plans to provide bunker busting bombs to the UAE in an effort to contain Iran.
China continues to provide advanced missiles and other weapons to Iran despite promises not to, including building an entire missile plant in Iran last year to produce the Nasr-1 anti-ship cruise missile.  Iran is to sign a contract with Russia for more nuclear plants as well as two fully equipped nuclear labs for BN-600 reactors, which is to produce enriched uranium for military use.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran has continued its nuclear programme, including attempting to miniaturize a Pakistani nuclear weapon design to fit on its ballistic missiles and other activities that are "specific to nuclear weapons".  The UN nuclear chief is quoted as saying "Iran has carried out activities relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device."  Iran is also seeking material for re-entry ballistic vehicles, while working on its own missile defence system. Some claim that North Korea is assisting the country, however Iranian claims that the system is more advanced than Russia's S-300 are generally not believed.
As expected, Egypt is swinging toward Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood in recent elections, sending Egypt further away from Western influence.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private enterprise which monitors world events and assesses nuclear threats against the United States by national entities. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack.
If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. This system serves the Kettle Falls area of Northeast Washington. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.

Additional updates will be made as the situation warrants, with more frequent updates at higher alert levels.
This concludes this broadcast of the DEFCON Warning System.
