Large 7.4 Quake Hits South Caribbean; 'Swarm' of Quakes Hits Central California

A large 7.4 earthquake has hit the Windward Islands in the South Caribbean. No tsunami warning has been issued. No reports of damage or fatalities at this time.

A "swarm" of earthquakes have hit southern California near San Jose. More than 15 quakes have hit within 125 miles of San Jose, Calif. over the last 72 hours, with the largest measuring 3.4 magnitude. A swarm is often a sign of magma movement near or at a volcano. A swarm such as this could also be the precursor of a following large quake.
